Like many other foreigners, my family moved to New York upon their arrival to the U.S. To be truthful, I’m not a real New Yorker. I was born in the Bronx and moved to Georgia around the age of 4 years old. When my mom, grandma, and I moved to the South, we were physically leaving decades of family building, relationships, and development. To combat this, I’d travel to the Bronx with my grandma every summer.
